Dwaraka Nagar police registered a case, based on a court order, against officials of the erstwhile Central Investigation Unit (CIU) of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly manhandling some people and making derogatory remarks against them, in Visakhapatnam on Monday.

The complaint was filed in court by Gedela Rajasekhar, son of Gedela Lakshmi Ganeswara Rao, then Inspector of Survey in the Survey and Land Records Department, Vizianagaram district.

Mr. Ganeswara Rao was arrested by the ACB for allegedly possessing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The complainant mentioned that the CIU team including DSP A Ramadevi, CIs Ramesh Babu, Sudarshan Reddy and two other constables manhandled his parents and him when they conducted a raid on their house in 2017.

He also alleged that they made casteist remarks against his family.
