Bullock-cart competition and boat racing will be organised as part of the two-day Bheemili Utsav, beginning Saturday. A carnival has been planned from 2.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. on Saturday after the inaugural.

Reviewing the arrangements for the Utsav here on Thursday, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Youth Affairs Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao said games, local cuisines, rangoli and other decorations and folk arts would be showcased prominently during the utsav.

The Minister said 25 teams would participate in bullock-cart races, scheduled to be organised on Saturday morning, while boat racing will be held on Sunday evening. On Thursday, horse-riding competitions were organized in Padmanabham mandal.

Arrangements reviewed

Competitions will be held in kabaddi, kho kho, rangoli and cookery at the mandal and Assembly constituency-level. Mr. Srinivasa Rao inspected the arrangements for the Utsav. DRDA Project Director Visweswara Rao, RDO Penchala Kishore and District Tourism Officer Purnima Devi accompanied Mr. Srinivasa Rao.
