The city experienced scattered rainfall at a few places on Tuesday. While the light drizzle in the morning lifted up the spirits, the grey cloaked clouds failed to lift up to the expectations and soon petered out.
Officials of Cyclone Warning Centre said that there was an absence of any significant low pressure troughs. However, an upper air circulation was present from 2.1 km to 5.8 km over south coastal AP and adjoining Bay of Bengal.
The weatherman has predicted scattered rainfall at a few places during the next 24 hours.
Significant amounts of rainfall recorded at a few places till 0830 hrs of Tuesday are: Rajampet – 8cm, Araku Valley – 5 cm, Veeraghattam – 5 cm, Amlapuram – 4 cm, Kakinada – 3 cm, Peddapuram – 3 cm, Bobbili – 2 cm, Rapur – 2cm, Sullurupeta – 2 cm, Polavaram – 2 cm, Atmakuru – 2 cm, S. Kota – 2 cm, Tirupati – 2 cm.
