Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Make in India campaign and the establishment of new capital for the State of Andhra Pradesh is going to provide a huge market for steel and the RINL collective should gear up to meet the demand, RINL Chairman and Managing Director P. Madhusudhan said.

Addressing representatives of RINL Steel Executives Association after releasing SEA 2015 calendar at Ukkunagaram here on Wednesday, Mr. Madhusudhan said that the demand for steel in the Indian market was likely to increase in the next four to five years, according to a statement issued by the Steel Executives Association. The Prime Minister had directed the chiefs of PSU steel makers to increase their production to meet the domestic demand for steel that was set to increase with the push for Make in India, Mr. Madhusudhan told the SEA representatives K Madhav Rao, M Srinivas, KSS Chandra Rao and MN Prakash who had called on him.

The RINL Chairman told them that during a recent meeting with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Principal Secretary Industry he had pointed out that the RINL was the best suited for delivering the high quality steel that would be needed for the construction of new State Capital. Further, the proximity of the steel plant would also give a cost advantage. The Chief Minister had responded positively to the suggestion, Mr. Madhusudhan said.
