A four-day art exhibition of paintings, three-dimensional works, sculptures and photograph by 53 artists got underway here on Friday. The exhibition – artFAIR – jointly organised by Kattakuri Ravi and Tarakeswara Foundation was officially inaugurated by HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao at the Rajiv Smruthi Bhavan on the Beach Road.

A festive atmosphere pervaded the venue with the artists and others studied the carefully selected works in awe. Among the works on display were a couple by Visakha South MLA Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar. Young artists were seriously studying the iconic works by artists like V. Ramesh, G. Ravinder Reddy and Venkat Botsa. There were three works by foreign artists, one each from Spain, Japan and Malaysia.

The idea is to provide a platform for all the artists of the city to get a chance to display their works, K. Ravi said. He said he has plans to organise a bigger art show where each artist would get a stall to display as many works as they want. He planned to organise it early next year.
