ICFAI Business School (IBS) organised a one-day faculty development programme, here on Friday.
Principals and faculty members from various B-Schools and engineering colleges attended the session, which was addressed by senior IBS faculty members Venugopal and Mishra.
Talking about the FDP, assistant general manager of IBS A. Sreedhar Kumar, said till date many of the B-schools have been following the traditional method of theoretical classroom sessions.
“Our idea is to change the perception and train the teachers and college management to take up skill-based and attitude-based learning.” Elaborating on the concept, he said the IBS follows a case-study-based teaching system.
“Our students are exposed to about 200 plus live cases, and mostly are done through active industry participation,” he said. According to him in an interview 30 per cent allotted to knowledge and marks and 70 per cent caters to skill set and attitude. And to prepare the students for such a mindset, one has to change the teaching methods, said Dr. Sreedhar.
