Drive against use of plastic

Student volunteers from the National Service Scheme (NSS) on Tuesday launched a campaign against use of plastic.

V-C's call

Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University B. Satyanarayana, who inaugurated the campaign at a camp here, asked the volunteers to make the campus plastic-free.

He said all NSS volunteers were being given 1 per cent reservation in the present PG counselling for admissions.

Eighty volunteers from NSS unit I and II of GVP Degree College (autonomous) took part in the week-long special camp at the main canteen building of the university, according to college principal P. Rajaganapati.

AU NSS programme coordinator P. Ramachandra Rao explained about the upcoming NSS programmes to the volunteers.

Secretary and correspondent of GVP Degree College D. Dakshina Murty spoke on the importance of the camp.

Programme coordinators for units I and II M.F. Rahiman and G. Lakshmi Narayana were present.
