A 24X7 water project has been sanctioned for the southwest region of the central part of the city with a cost of Rs.83.43 crore.

The project was okayed by the Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee meeting at New Delhi on Friday, according to Municipal Commissioner B. Ramanjaneyulu who participated in the CSMC meeting. Describing the project as Ugadi gift for the people of the city, the Commissioner said the project would be completed in two years. He said the clearance became easy with the initiative taken by Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy who got it approved at the State-level Steering Committee paving the way for its clearance at Delhi.

Mr. Ramanjaneyulu said the community cycling project would also be approved by the CSMC once it gets the clearance at the State-level.
