YSRC leaders march to CM’s office, arrested

The rally to the Chief Minister’s camp office was the first in a series of protests planned to oppose disruption of Jagan’s indefinite fast.

The police cracked down on leaders of the YSRC who tried to take out a rally from the PWD grounds to the Chief Minister’s camp to register their protest against the “forcible” ending of a fast taken up by the party president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy. The party leaders arrested included former Ministers Botcha Satyanarayana, Kolusu Parthasarathy, Umareddi Venkateswarlu, MPs Y.V. Subba Reddy, Mekapati Raja Mohan Reddy, MLAs Raja Pratap, Jyothula Nehru and MLC Meka Seshibabau YSRCP general secretary Vijayasai Reddy and others .

The rally to the Chief Minister’s camp office was the first in a series of protests planned to oppose disruption of Jagan’s indefinite fast. The party is planning relay fasts from October 17 to 21 in all district headquarters. On October 18 party leaders will take out rallies and on October 19 they would stage dharnas near government offices. The activists would take out candle light rallies on October 20 and dharnas at RTC depots on October 21.
