The YSR Congress will submit to the 14 Finance Commission its own version of financial assistance required for Andhra Pradesh as the Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu did not protect the State’s interests when he represented to the panel headed by Y.V. Reddy at Tirupati on Friday.
This was stated by party spokesperson at a press conference when he said the representation of Mr. Naidu was dull and politically motivated. Mr. Naidu should have demanded 50 per cent share of taxes collected by the Centre in the State and sops that would put the economy on a vibrant mode.
The State government should seek more funds due to the special circumstances that it was placed in after bifurcation, setting aside parameters of the Commission for assistance. However, Mr. Naidu opted for a political plank at the cost of State interests. He did not get a single assurance from the Centre after assuming office.
