World Vision services lauded

Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Minister P. Viswaroop distributed milch animals to 152 poor people here. He also distributed chop cutters, milk reading machines, and medicines to improve milk production.

The programme was organised by World Vision here to distribute milch animals worth Rs. 60 lakh.

The Minister appreciated the efforts of World Vision in helping the poor.

World Vision manager Herald Babu said that construction of houses for tsunami victims, RO plants in coastal areas, supply of drinking water were some of the programmes taken up by the organisation.

So far, 300 animals were distributed, and 200 more animals would be distributed shortly, he said.

Machilipatnam MLA Perni Venkataramaiah, Animal Husbandry Joint Director Umesh and others were present.

Later, the Minister along with the MLA inaugurated many roads and launched works in the town. Municipal Commissioner Sivaramakrishna, former municipal chairman Silar Dada and others were present.
