Two held for rash driving

The Krishnalanka police on Friday arrested home guard B. Arun Kumar and a car driver, P. Venkateswara Rao, on charges of rash and negligent driving that resulted in an accident.

The mishap occurred on August 11, and a bank officer, B. Kasi Visweswara Rao, suffered injuries, said Central Zone Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) T. Prabhakar Babu.

The home guard, who is working at the Police Transport Organisation in Guntur district, drove the police vehicle in the wrong route, and the car driver who followed him hit Mr. Visweswara Rao, who was walking, said Krishnalanka Circle Inspector S.V.V.S. Murthy.

The accused will be produced before court, the ACP added.
