Police on Friday took three persons into custody for allegedly setting two cars and two motorcycles on fire in the city on Thursday.

The suspects were arrested within a day of the crime.

The gang allegedly torched two cars and two motorcycles in different locations under Ajit Singh Nagar Police Station limits on Wednesday night.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order DCP-II) Ch. Vijaya Rao said that the team headed by Ajit Singh Nagar Circle Inspector Lakshmi Narayana identified the trio after going through CCTV footage.

“The accused have been identified as Gummadi Sanjay Babu and two minors. The motive behind the act is still unclear and we are still conducting the investigation,” said Mr. Vijaya Rao. He complimented constable Vivek, who identified the gang members.
