Surekha for World University Archery Championship

City archer Vennam Jyothi Surekha has been selected for the Indian compound women’s team to take part in the World University Archery Championship to be held at Gwangju in South Korea from July 3 to 14.

Surekha, who is a regular member of the Indian team for the various World Cup fixtures, has earned her slot in the final selection trials concluded in the Punjabi University on May 23. As the university concerned of the archer is responsible for the total expenditure of the archer, Surekha’s alma mater Koneru Lakshmaiah University has come forward to meet the expenses of Rs. 1.90 lakh.

“She will be part of the month-long coaching camp which will be held in the Punjabi University at Patiala from June 2 to July 1. ,” said archer’s father Surendra.
