Students shine at VIVA VVIT

Students of various engineering colleges displayed their creative talents at VIVA VVIT held at Vasireddy Venkatadri Institute of Technology, Nambur on Friday.

VVIT chairman Vasireddy Vidya Sagar said that 3,000 students from 70 engineering colleges took part in the fest in which competitions were held in 60 events in technical, cultural, literary, arts and sports fields.

While appreciating the college management for its efforts in organising cultural fests, Registrar, JNTU, Kakinada, G.V. Prasada Raju said that the college became a name to reckon with in the field of engineering education in a short span of just seven years.

He said that the success of any educational institution rests basically on the shoulders of good teachers and asked the students to have a distinct plan for their career and future.

Dr. Raju also commended the cultural clubs and said that they have contributed for the successful organisation of the Cultural Festival.

The highlight of the event was a scintillating performance by the dance club students of the VVIT.

The “WIDGETS” show organised by the Department of Mechanical Engineering students stole the show.

D. Haripriya of Vigan’s Lara won first prize in elocution while students of KITS won the first prize in general quiz. P Sai Alekhya and N. Manjush won first prize in the category of technical paper presentation contest. In the short animation and spot design contests conducted by animation and graphics club N. Akhil, N Deepthi and N Sai Ramya of VVIT excelled.

K. Premeraj of St Mary’s College of Engineering Chebrolu won the first prize in chess. Sk Thasleem Sulthana of Vignan’s Nirula and M Santhosh Tejaswini took the honours in girl’s category.
