The police, revenue, transport and other departments have taken various measures for removing traffic obstructions for free movement of vehicles at various places in city. The measures taken up in mutual coordination in the past three months helped ensure smooth flow of traffic at several junctions and roads.

These efforts have been made after the problems were reviewed at various meetings addressed by District Collector S.A.M. Rizvi, police commissioner N. Madhusudhan Reddy and other officials. Special efforts were made to remove traffic hurdles like electric polls by making coordinated efforts with the department concerned.

Nearly 25 electric poles and transformers were removed between Sithara Junction and Nainavaram flyover bridge, which helped in clear way for traffic. The road margins from Gollapudi Y Junction to Sithara Junction were laid with crusher dust for the convenience of vehicles.

At Durga Temple, road margins were developed with black topped road from Toll Gate of Durga Temple to Visweswara Swami Temple via Ashoka Pillar to solve traffic jams there. Traffic signal lights were erected at Gollapudi Centre with the help of local educational institutions. Traffic congestion was reduced with free left provision at Atta Rattaiah Street and Rythu Bazaar Junction on MG Road.
