SPDCL EE kin get Rs. 25 lakh compensation

The wife and children of SPDCL executive engineer Pagadala Seetharama Rao, who was killed in a road accident, were granted compensation of Rs. 25 lakh.

Advocate Naraharisetti Narasimha Rao said that the insurance company handed over a cheque for the amount to the family on Monday.

Giving details of the case Mr. Narasimha Rao said the victim was going in an auto-rickshaw from G. Konduru centre to Ibrahimpatnam on April 7, 2007. A lorry hit the auto-rickshaw at the Bank Centre, G. Konduru. Mr. Seetharama Rao suffered grievous injuries in the accident and died in the hospital. Based on the age and salary of the victim a claim was made for Rs. 35 lakh, but after negotiations and conciliations the two parties settled at a compensation of Rs. 25 lakh, Mr Narasimha Rao said.
