Severe heat wave in four districts

Machilipatnam records 7.2 degrees Celsius increase from normal maximum temperature

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted severe heat wave conditions in Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam and Nellore districts of Andhra Pradesh till Tuesday.

The IMD predicted ‘heat wave’ conditions in the whole of Visakhapatnam, East and West Godavari districts of Coastal Andhra and only in parts of Kurnool, Kadapa and Chittoor districts of Rayalaseema till Tuesday evening.

Vijayawada recorded the maximum temperature of 43.6 degrees Celsius on Saturday. The port towns of Machilipatnam and Kakinada recorded a sweltering maximum temperature of 43.5 and 43 degrees Celsius, while Ongole recorded 42.9.
