Taking a break from a series of meetings with Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and his Cabinet colleagues on possible collaborations in key sectors of the government, the 62-member team of the South Korean delegates in city visited the historic Kondapalli fort on Sunday.
A statement issued by Commissioner, Department of Archaeology and Museums Vani Mohan, said the visitors were impressed by the manner in which the government had preserved its heritage structures using the latest technologies.
Ms. Mohan explained to the team members how technologies like projection mapping and augmented reality were brought into play to enhance the visitor’s experience.
A highlight
The government has spent over ₹10 crore for restoration and development of the fort, including the augmented reality-enabled gallery at the Durbar hall and other facilities, one of the highlights of the place.
The durbar hall has been transformed into a gallery displaying the fort’s idols and sculptures dating back to the 14th century, augmented reality enabled portraits of the past rulers, a replica of the entire fort and a laser 3D projection mapping and lighting show at the courtyard are also major attractions at the fort.
