Rajahmundry is now ‘Rajamahendravaram’

The State government on Friday issued a GO 1017 renaming ‘Rajahmundry’ city as ‘Rajamahendravaram’.

The State government on Friday issued a GO 1017 renaming ‘Rajahmundry’ city as ‘Rajamahendravaram’.

The government also decided to change the name of Rajahmundry Revenue Division and Rajahmundry Revenue Mandals (Urban & Rural ) as ‘Rajamahendravaram Revenue Division and Rajamahendravaram Revenue Mandals (Urban & Rural ) respectively.

East Godavari District Collector was asked to publish the preliminary notification in the District Gazette for information of the public and give wide publicity calling for suggestions and objections from the people affected by the said notification.

These would be furnished to the government along with his remarks through the Chief Commissioner of Land Administration after 30 days from the date of publication of the notification in the District Gazette.
