South Central Railway Employees’ Sangh (SCRES), Vijayawada Division, secretary B.V. Chalapathi Rao said that the National Federation of Indian Railwaymen (NFIR) has called for an indefinite nationwide strike from November 23, in protest against the government’s plan to privatise Railways through the FDI route. The strike will begin on November 23, if the Centre does not give up its privatisation policy, he said. The decision to strike work for an indefinite period was taken during the massive protest staged by the NFIR in New Delhi on April 28, Mr. Chalapathi Rao said.
