A three-day university-level poster exhibition on “The Pursuit of Liberty, Equality and Fraternity,’’ held in honour of Kailash Satyarthi, who shared Nobel Peace Prize-2014 with Malala Yousafzai, was inaugurated at JKC College here on Friday
The posters designed by students depicted the nuanced signs of trauma, public and private tortures that slowly gave way to affirmative faith in the essential dignity and sanity.
Nagarjuna Educational Society president K. Basavapunnaiah and secretary and correspondent of JKC College J. Murali Mohan released the posters.
Organising secretary of the exhibition, V. Pala Prasada Rao, said that the posters showed Kailash Satyarthi showing admirable courage in the face of overwhelming odds stacked against his work.
In the first part of the poster, Satyarthi truck a pathetic pose when during one of his child-rescuing operations he was grievously assaulted. The other posters prepared by students with the help of the staff pressing state-of-art technology into service stares into the face of humanity as it discolours the vibrant and pulsating life.
The issues portrayed on posters evoke tender feelings and helps the onlookers to be responsive with their creative engagement with nature both animate and inanimate, Dr. Prasada Rao said.
Principal I. Nageswara Rao said that the primary intention of the exhibition was to sensitise students on the whole gamut of issues of human interest.
Director of PG Courses S.R.K. Prasad was also present.
Later, certificates of excellence were given away by Ch. Tulasi Mastanamma, academic advisor to Commissioner of Collegiate Education, Hyderabad.
