The city police will take possession of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s proposed camp office by May 25. The office is likely to be ready by June 2, according to City Police Commissioner A.B. Venkateswara Rao.
District officials have promised to hand over the office by May 25, and necessary security will be provided. Mr. Rao said extra forces would be deployed depending on the requirement.
He added that Vijayawada Central MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao’s son B. Ravi Teja, who reportedly celebrated his birthday by taking out a vehicle rally in the city on May 10, did not obtain permission from police. “Using CCTV footages and photographs, we have identified a few vehicles that were part of the rally. The e-challans generated through CCTV footages will be sent to their residences,” he said, adding that Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Addl.DCP-Traffic) T.V. Nagaraju had been instructed to look into violation of traffic rules by Ravi Teja.
