The Two Town police arrested K. Wilson, a pastor, for allegedly detaining and torturing two children. The siblings were rescued from Wilson’s house, located at YSR Colony in the city, a couple of days ago.

The accused reportedly promised the parents to provide education and take care of the children, and kept them in his custody. They were natives of Mamidipalli village in Vizianagaram district.

The school teachers, who found burn injuries on hands and legs of the boy and girl, alerted the police, who rescued them. They were kept in a private home, and the police questioned the parents on Friday.

“The pastor burnt them with a hot spatula as the children were noisy and even stopped sending them to school. Bleeding injuries were found on the back, hands and legs of the siblings”, said a local resident.

Wrongfully confined

Speaking to The Hindu on Friday, Town Town Circle Inspector N.V.S.K. Durga Prasad said Wilson was booked under Section 75 of Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015.

“Wilson and his wife, K. Jyothi, were booked under Sections 342 IPC (Wrongful Confinement) and Section 324 IPC (Voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapons). The two children were sent to Government General Hospital for examination”, the CI said.

Investigation is under progress and more arrests are likely in the case, Mr. Durga Prasad added.
