Over 2,000 entries received for logo design

More than 2,000 entries have been submitted by people from India and abroad for the logo design for the new capital -- Amaravati.

More than 2,000 entries have been submitted by people from India and abroad for the logo design for the new capital -- Amaravati. The State government had invited entries from people to come up with the logo design and the last day of submission was October 15.

The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) authorities claimed that there was a good response for the competition. A committee would be formed to evaluate the logos and the best three entries would be awarded cash prizes of Rs.1 lakh, Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 25,000 respectively.

Apart from Andhra Pradesh, there were many entries from Telangana and other States such as Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Arunachal Pradesh, Karnataka, West Bengal, Bihar, Maharashtra, Goa, Uttar Pradesh.

People from Canada, US, UAE, Sweden, Portugal, Brazil and other countries also submitted their logos online. A few of them also sent poems and verses along with logos.
