Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu sprinkled holy water and soil collected from several sacred places across the globe all over the new capital area, Amaravati, from a helicopter on Wednesday.
Mr. Naidu said the Capital city would acquire all powers and good aspects associated with those holy places. The water and soil was brought from several holy places including from Mecca, Jerusalem, Manasarovar, and from Bangaru Baavi in Tirumala. The soil and water from Golden Temple in Amritsar, Vaishnodevi temple, Ajmer Darga in Ajmer were collected, he said.
Not just ordinary soil, but putta mannu (ant hill soil) was collected from 13,000 villages and 3,000 wards in the State. Likewise, holy water was collected from there, he said.
“We also have soil collected from the birth places of great leaders Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Ambedkar and Jawaharlal Nehru were also collected,” he said.
Mr. Naidu said he was confident that all these make the new capital Amaravati strong and help it become one of the top cities in the world in the future.
Our objective is to make it one of the top 10 Capital cities in the world, he said.
The covernment would preserve the 16,000 sankalpam (determination/resolution) in a time capsule and bury it at Capital city, he said.
