Man run over by train

A 52-year-old man died on the spot when he was run over by a train near Garledinne station towards Pamidi in Anantapur district on Saturday.

The Dharmavaram Government Railway Police said the deceased, Bharat Kumar, was a resident of Anantapur and was reportedly crossing the railway track in the early hours and did not notice the oncoming train while allegedly talking over phone.

According to the police, a complaint was lodged by the relatives of the deceased in which they reportedly said that Bharat Kumar had gone on some work related to real estate business along with a friend. While crossing the track, he allegedly was on the phone and got hit by the train.

The police have registered a case.
