The ownership is very clear as per the records but one fine morning you find that the land that belongs to you has been “stolen”. In the matter of a few days somebody has constructed a building and you are stuck in a legal row that is going to take years to get resolved. Who could imagine that a piece of land can be stolen, but there seem to be gangs that specialise in it.

Immovable property, particularly land, is rapidly becoming the most valuable of assets. And protecting it is becoming a formidable task.

“After the over subscription of the Amaravati bonds, the value of land will increase manifold and the disputes will also increase,” said a real estate dealer. But there is no one to look into the interest of the individual landowner. Secureprop is a firm that helps individual land and site holders protect their property from being “stolen”. A firm based in Bangalorehas started operations in Amaravati and Hyderabad recently.

Multiple services

The services it provides are vacant land monitoring and vigilance, tracing of lost property and sites along with investment advice, evaluation and verification, marketing and last but not the least Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) consultation.

The firm charges a fee per square feet for its services.

Secureprop spokesperson Pavan Kumar Talipineni said every 15 days the owner of the property would be mailed a 360-degree panoramiv video of the property and also of the margins.

Anil Veeramachineni, from Vijayawada, settled in Bengaluru. A software professional, he has purchased two sites as investments in two areas here. The firm has been keeping an eye on his property for the past few years.
