Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao not only received a rousing reception when he arrived at the venue of the Amaravati foundation ceremony but his short but solemn speech also evoked a good response.

The audience cheered lustily as he said Telangana would extend all support for Andhra Pradesh’s new capital. Members of the audience said the Telangana Chief Minister’s appearance at the Amaravati ceremony has done a lot to heal the wounds of bifurcation.

“We may have been geographically divided but we are two Telugu-speaking States. This gesture will promote brotherhood between the two States. Mr. Rao is coming to Andhra Pradesh after a long time and it is good that he has come,” said Mr Narayana Murthy, a lecturer in a private college.

Mr. Venkateswara Rao, a businessman from Guntur, said, “By participating in the foundation ceremony and promising to lend a helping hand, Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao is promoting a positive atmosphere and this has to be welcomed.”
