Guinness World Record attempt

Clad in black and white tracksuit, students at the Sri Durga Malleswara Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala were, on Saturday, warming up to cement a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records.

On the occasion of International Day of Yoga, 520 students from the women’s college attempted to hold the Warrior Pose 1, also known as Veerabhadrasana for three minutes in a bid to warrior into the records.

The attempt was held at 22 various locations such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Guntur, Visakhapatnam and Raipur with maximum number of participants. “Going by our practice regiment, we are positive of bagging the recognition in the Book,” said N. Venkateshwarlu, president, Siddhartha Academy.

The event, claimed to be the first of its kind in India, was done in collaboration with The Art of Living Foundation.
