The State government has confirmed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the State on October 22 for participating in the foundation laying ceremony for Amaravati.
The Prime Minister’s programme schedule was released on Friday, and during the eight-hour trip to the State, he is likely to visit Tirumala and have darshan at the Lord Venkateswara temple, before heading back to New Delhi. According to the schedule, the Prime Minister will be arriving at Gannavaram airport around 11.20 a.m. and will be flying to Uddandarayunipalem in a helicopter and reach there at 12.20 p.m. He will be participating in pujas as part of the foundation laying ceremony at 12.35 p.m.
Later, he will participate in the rendering of ‘Maa Telugu Talliki’ song at Uddandarayunipalem and felicitate farmers who have parted with their lands for the construction of the capital. After a brief interaction with dignitaries at the venue, he will visit the Amaravati exhibition stall, which will display the past, present and future of the city through audio, video and photo presentations. This will be followed by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s speech at 1.15 p.m., and the Prime Minister will address a gathering at 1.40 p.m. Mr. Modi will have lunch with some VIPs around 2.30 p.m.
After the completion of the foundation laying ceremony, the Prime Minister will fly to Gannavaram airport at 3.15 p.m and later travel to Tirupati. After participating in the inauguration ceremony of a Vedic school and Tirupati airport programme at 4.05 p.m., he will proceed to Tirumala and have darshan at the Lord Venkateswara temple at 5.30 p.m. He will reach Tirupati and fly back to New Delhi around 7.30 p.m. This is the tentative schedule fixed as of now, and it is subject to revision.
On the possibilities of the Prime Minister visiting the Kanaka Durga temple, Krishna Collector Babu A. said there was no such plan and much would depend on the final schedule to be finalised by the PMO.
