Go issued, govt. to acquire land for airport works under LPS

The State Government issued orders on Monday evening, paving the way to use the Land Pooling Scheme (LPS) for acquiring land to expand the Gannavaram airport.

CRDA Commissioner N. Srikanth, Krishna Collector Babu A. and Revenue Divisional Officers have been appointed as the competent authorities to carry out LPS. The government needs 687 acres for the development Gannavaram as an international airport.

The Collector has submitted a report to the government saying that most of the farmers in the area had agreed to part with their lands under the LPS . He requested the government to pass the necessary orders for acquiring 687 acres for airport expansion.
