DLSA starts legal literacy clubs

In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the Prakasam District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) along with the District administration on Saturday opened 37 legal literacy clubs in the Kasturiba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas through video conference.

As many as 15000 students were roped in by the DLSA to step up awareness on, among other subjects, fundamental duties and the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, Senior Citizens Act and free legal aid, said DLSA Chairperson and Prakasam Principal District Judge M.G.Priyadarshini along with District Collector V. Vinay Chand.

DLSA Secretary T.Raja Venkatadri said that this was the first time that so many legal literacy clubs have been opened on a single day.
