An armed reserve constable received severe injuries after he was allegedly attacked by a woman and her husband at Repudi village of A. Konduru on Friday.
According to the Mylavaram police, Banavath Sukra was attacked by B. Rambabu and Radha with an axe near Repudi road. The constable, who sustained a severe injury on the head, was rushed to hospital by locals.
The accused have been detained by police who took up the investigation. The reason behind the attack is yet to be established. The constable is undergoing treatment at Mylavaram area hospital.
