Amaravati to host the ceremony every year

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu instituted the ‘ISA Amaravati Solar City Award,’ a global award for best solar cities to be hosted by the State government and International Solar Alliance. He granted a fund of ₹10 crore to host the award ceremony in Amaravati every year here on.

Responding immediately to the proposal made by Upendra Tripathy, Director General of ISA at the valedictory of AP Energy Innovation Summit 2019 here, Mr. Naidu said that the government is willing to host the awards ceremony as it is going to give the State an opportunity to learn.

₹10 cr. sanctioned

Mr. Naidu directed Principal Secretary (Energy) Ajay Jain to immediately sanction ₹10 crore as requested in the proposal.

Earlier Mr. Tripathy told Mr. Naidu that ISA will select a best solar city in the world. He said AP would be the second State in India to have such a collaboration after Haryana.
