With only a few days left for the launch of the World Telugu Conferences (WTC), students of various colleges and music and dance institutions have intensified the campaign for the success of the three-day meet.
The government is making elaborate arrangements for organising the WTC on a grand scale from December 27 at Tirupati. As part of run-up to the event, the district administration has launched wide publicity on the proposed conferences in Krishna district.
Students of various colleges organised rallies and are performing cultural shows, highlighting the greatness of ‘Telugu Talli’ and the State Official Language.
Secondary Education Minister K. Parthasarathy, district Collector Budhaprakash M. Jyothi, and other officials launched the campaign at Kankipadu recently. The Minister launched the ‘Prachara Ratham’ decorated with ‘thoranams’ for the conferences at the State Guest House on Friday.
The AP State Official Language Commission Chairman Mandali Buddha Prasad flagged off the rally to highlight the ‘World Telugu Conferences’ at Challapalli.
“In the present situation, Telugu language is facing many challenges. It is the responsibility of every person to protect the mother tongue,” said Mr. Buddha Prasad and save Telugu language and the mother land.
Students participated in the rallies depicting the role of Telugu poets, writers, freedom fighters, rulers, Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam, and other fine arts and Indian culture. They explained the importance of great poets such as Srinadhudu, Potana, Molla, Gurajada Appa Rao, and other writers and the rule of emperor Sri Krishnadevaraya.
Many educational institutions are organising competitions and debates on Telugu language and on the mother land as part of the campaign.
The district officials organised meetings and reviewed mobilisation of people for the conferences. Many poets and artistes from different places are likely to attend the WTC.
