Budameru flood to be a thing of the past: Uma

May 11, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:59 am IST - VIJAYAWADA:

Irrigation Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao on Sunday inspected the Budameru strengthening works at Enikepadu here on Sunday along with Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi. Budameru has been the ‘sorrow of Vijayawada’, thanks to the flooding caused by it during the monsoon season.

Mr. Rao said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu would visit the project site later this month.

He will also participate in a meeting of engineers scheduled for May 15 on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Sir Arthur Cotton.

Chief Engineer Sudhakar, Superintending Engineer Ramakrishna and Executive Engineer Satyanarayana were among those who accompanied the Minister.
