A six-year-old archer of Bhimavaram entered the Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records by shooting 100 arrows on five targets in record time on Sunday.

B. Tanishka, who won five medals in the National Youth Archery Championship held here in November, fired the arrows in 16 minutes and 50 seconds in the presence of coach Gopalakrishna Gandhi, Archery Association of India Judge B. Sravan Kumar, Andhra Pradesh Archery Association judge Naveen Kumar and representatives of the record books.

“Tanishka performed the feat in the compound segment in which the arrows were fired with a help of releaser. She has proved she has nerves of steel, and if trained, can take up bigger challenges,” said AP Archery Association Secretary Ch Satyanarayana.

Meanwhile, SRKR Engineering College Chairman S. Vittal Raju said the college would sponsor her training.
