The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) in association with a private entrepreneur launched Bamboo Biryani (BB) Restaurant at LEPL ICON, at Patamata, near Benz Circle, on Tuesday.

Restaurant MD Vangala Sowjan, who is running a chain of restaurants in the city, said it’s a pleasure to have a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with APTDC to promote the traditional recipe.

“Bamboo biryani, which originated from the Agency area, is now available in capital city. The dish is good for health as chicken is cooked traditionally in raw bamboo,” said Mr. Sowjan told a press conference.

A variety of mouth-watering dishes with the theme ‘Bamboo,’ including chicken, paneer, biryani, paneer biryani and other dishes along with grill chicken, fish, chicken keema biryani, BBQ chicken biryani, baby lamb biryani are available in the restaurant, he said.

BB Restaurant is using eco-friendly material such as bamboo pulp plates and spoons, Mr. Sowjan added.

Free offer

Business consultant, J. Pavan said the BB Restaurant, located on the ground floor of the mall, will offer 20 biryanis free to students on production of ID card, for the first ten days.

Besides, premium chicken and mutton biryanis, which can be served to eight persons, is another special offer in the new restaurant, Mr. Pavan.
