AP, TS bonding continues in TT

Even after bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, both Telangana and AP table tennis associations are continuing their cordial relationship by helping each other in staging coaching camps and exchanging both expertise and technique for the development of the game, according to Telangana TT administrator Prakash Raj here on Saturday.

Speaking at the inaugural function of the Air Costa Stag Inter-District Table Tennis Tournament at the DRMC Indoor Stadium, he said both the States will soon emerge as a force to reckon with in the national level. “The overwhelming response for the State meet is an indication that the game is progressing in the right direction”.

Central MLA Bonda Uma Maheswara Rao said the new capital city coming up at Amaravati will have state-of-the-art sporting facilities on par with Hyderabad. The tournament assumes significance as the teams for the nationals will be selected on the concluding day.

Game’s administrators such as Chenchu Ramaiah, Mukkamala, Futureall Managing Director Ravi Kumar took part in the meeting.

Saturday saw another sporting event, the South Zone inter-university tennis tournament for women hosted by Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences kick-starting at Andhra Loyola College. At the inaugural function at Siddhartha Medical College, Narasapur MP Gokaraju Gangaraju, who was chief guest, exhorted the players to continue with sports and games as they will help in a leading a healthy life in the future. “As future doctors, you will set a fine example for people.”
