Meet on English organised

Dr. N. Usha, head of the department of English, Krishna University, has said that a two-day national conference on “English for Specific Purposes” will be held on February 4 and 5 at Siddhartha Auditorium in city. She said that it is being held in association with the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) and the PB Siddhartha College of Arts and Science.

The theme of the conference is to explore the ways to meet the emerging needs of users of the English language in specific fields like science, technology, medicine and so on. In the fast paced changes being brought about in different fields and considering the importance of communication skills, the conference aims at providing more light on language effectiveness in specific areas like accounting, commerce, business, tourism and so on.

For more details, interested teachers, researchers and students can mail to kuconference2011@gmail.com. Papers consisting of 200 to 250 words can be sent through mail.

The chief patron of the conference is Dr. M.K. Durga Prasad, vice chancellor of the KU.
