It was an occasion for the woman of the house to shed the daily grind and embrace an action-packed evening. ‘Teluginti Tarunimani 2009’, hosted by the city-based Top Gear event managers at Siddhartha auditorium on Monday, was a big draw.
The campus bustled with activity, as women dressed in their best attire scurried to the venue to be part of a fun-filled day exclusively meant for their entertainment.
If the ‘Teluginti Tarunimani’ was a platform created exclusively for married women to showcase their innate talent, ‘Rock Star 2009’ invited young girls to vie for the coveted title.
Different rounds
The different rounds performed by the participants were aimed at testing not just their beauty but a whole gamut of other factors that supplement the overall personality of the fairer sex.
Self-confidence and body language were the finer traits that were brought into the play while taking a decision on who was the ‘fairest of all’.
Besides the mandatory introduction round, there was this sizzling ramp walk and talent round to judge the aptitude of the bevy of beauties.
Special prizes
To keep the audience entertained, women who carried the trendiest handbags and those with designer cholis were asked to come on to the dais to vie for special prizes. Dozens of them were game for the events while only a couple of them got prizes.
The participants also regaled the audience with dance numbers that suited their age perfectly well. The women presented a traditional dance while the girls rocked the auditorium by performing a medley on some of the hit Hindi film songs.
The performers were a mix of shy and timid and boisterous beauties. “The whole idea of hosting the event is to enable women to come out of their shells and let the world witness their immense power that shines through their inner strength,” said Vijayshree Gupta, the event manager.
Besides prizes for winners and runners-up, there were also prizes for Ms. Creativity, Ms. Fitness, Ms. Beautiful Smile and Ms. Photogenic.
