Congress, TDP lock horns over excise tenders

Former minister Devineni Rajasekhar and Telugu Desam Urban president Vallabaneni Vamsi have locked horns as a fall out of the race for liquor licence tenders in the city.

Mr. Vamsi reportedly complained to Police Commissoner P.S.R.Anjaneyulu that his followers were being intimidated by Mr. Rajasekhar. He even filed an assault case against Devineni Avinash the son of the former minister.

The tensions between the followers of the two leaders reached a flash point in the race for liquor licence tenders.

While the followers of the ruling party MLA and strongman of the city filed bids for liquor licences the followers of Mr. Vamsi filed competitive bids.
