Aviation Summit to commence today

200 companies from India and abroad are participating

The ‘Aviation Summit’, set to commence here on Thursday, will witness participation of about 200 companies of India and three other countries.

Representatives of companies based out of Uttar Pradesh, Madya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Karnataka and the United Kingdom, France and the Netherlands are to attend the summit, according to District Collector Babu A.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Minister for Civil Aviation Ashok Gajapati Raju along with other Union Ministers Y.S. Chowdary and M. Venkaiah Naidu will inaugurate the summit.

Air shows main attraction

FICCI Aviation Committee Chairman and President, Boeing India, Pratyush Kumar; Air Bus India Managing Director Srinivasan Dwarakanath; and delegates representing ATR, Embraer, Pawan Hans, Air Costa, and Trujet will speak on “Building India’s Leadership in Aerospace Manufacturing and MRO” and “Airport Airline Synergies and imperatives for improving regional connectivity”.

Mr. Babu said the air show by the Global Stars team would be the main attraction of the event.

The team of pilots, including Mark Jefferies, Tom Cassells and others also took part in the press meet.

Mr. Jefferies said the weather in the city and on the river front were suitable for the air show.

The air show will be between 4 p.m. and 4.30 p.m. on Thursday and can be best viewed from the Punnami Bhavani ghat where arrangements had been made.

On January 13 and 14, the air show will be at 11 a.m. and 4.15 p.m.
