A youth was reported missing after he ventured into the Cauvery river at Kambarasampettai here on Sunday. Fire and Rescue Services department said Gopinathan (21) along with two of his friends came to Kambarasampettai check dam. After venturing into the water to take bath, Gopinath went missing.
An alert was sounded to fire fighters who carried out a rescue mission for nearly two-and-half hours in search of Gopinathan in the water.
