Women entrepreneurship seminar tomorrow

Tamil Nadu National Law University and the National Commission for Women will organise a seminar, ‘Empowering women through entrepreneurship’ at the university on Friday.

Women entrepreneurs across various sectors will highlight their success stories and challenges they had to overcome, and spell out the requirements for creating a conducive environment for aspiring women entrepreneurs.

The seminar on entrepreneurship, to be conducted for the first time by the TNLLU, will sensitise 250 student participants to the importance of entrepreneurship in empowering women and the emerging opportunities, Vice-Chancellor Kamala Sankaran, who will be moderating a panel discussion, said.

The panellists comprise Meenakshi Gupta, Member Secretary, NCW; Mini Shaji Thomas, Director, NIT-Tiruchi; Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Professor, IIM-Tiruchi; and N. Manimekalai, Director and Head, Department of Women Studies, Bharathidasan University, Tiruchi.

Girl students from Anbil Dharmalingam Agricultural College and Research Institute; Cauvery College for Women; Chidambaram Pillai College of Women; Department of Women's Studies, Bharathidasan University; and Bharathidasan University Constituent Arts and Science College, Navalurkuttapattu, will take part in the seminar.
