Traffic diversion for Vaikunta Ekadasi at Srirangam

It will come into effect from 8 p.m. on Monday to 2 p.m. on December 18

The police have announced change in vehicular movements in view of Vaikunta Ekadasi at Srirangam Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple on Tuesday.

The diversion will come into effect from 8 p.m. on Monday and will be in place till 2 p.m. on December 18.

Srirangam-bound town buses from Chathram bus stand would go via Odathurai bridge, Chennai By Pass road, 'Y' road junction, Check post - 6, Panchakarai road, Nelson road, Gandhi Road to reach Srirangam bus stand. It will proceed in the return direction via Amma Mandapam, Mambazha salai, Anna Silai to reach Chathram bus stand.

Buses proceeding on the Lalgudi and Manachanallur routes from Chathram bus stand would go via Odathurai bridge, Chennai By Pass road and Coleroon bridge. While returning, these buses would come through Coleroon bridge, Panchakarai road, Nelson road, Gandhi road, Srirangam bus stand, Amma Mandapam, Mambazha salai and Anna statue to reach Chathram bus stand.

Mofussil buses proceeding in the Perambalur, Ariyalur, Thuraiyur and Cuddalore routes will go in the usual route and return back.

Vehicles with entry passes would have to come via Panchakarai road, North Mottai gopuram and park the vehicles at North Chithirai street parking lot. In the return direction, they should leave via Raghavendra Arch, Amma Mandapam, Mambazha salai and Cauvery bridge.

Cars and vans carrying devotees to the temple from Karur route would have to come via check post 7, Anna statue, Odathurai bridge, Chennai By pass road, 'Y' road junction, Panchakarai road, Dasavadhara Sannidhi, Melur road and park at the parking lot in Moolathoppu. In the return direction, these vehicles should go via Raghavendra Arch, Amma Mandapam, Mambazha Salai and Cauvery bridge.

Cars and vans carrying with devotees from Madurai, Pudukottai and Thanjavur routes should come via Palpannai, 'Y' road junction, Panchakarai road, Dasavadhara Sannidhi and park them at the parking lot in Moolathoppu by taking the Melur road. In the return direction, these vehicles should go via Raghavendra Arch, Amma Mandapam, Mambazha Salai and Cauvery bridge.

Cars and vans from Chennai, Salem and Ariyalur routes should also be parked at the Moolathoppu parking lot after coming via Panchakarai road and Dasavaradhara Sannidhi.

Tourist buses carrying devotees from Madurai, Pudukottai and Thanjavur routes will have to come via Palpannai, 'Y' road junction, check post 6, Panchakarai road and park the vehicle on Coleroon river bank opposite Yatri Nivas. The vehicles must leave in the same direction while returning.

Tourist buses coming to the temple from the Karur route should be parked at the National College Higher Secondary School ground near Chathram bus stand and return back in the same direction. Tourists buses to the temple from Chennai, Ariyalur and Salem routes should also be parked on the Coleroon river bank opposite Yatri Nivas.

Autorickshaws carrying the aged and persons with disabilities should come via Tiruvanaikoil Junction, Gandhi road, North Devi road and alight the passengers at Keezha Chithirai Veedhi. In the return direction, they should go via South Devi road, Veereswaram and Amma Mandapam road.

Residents staying in Uthira Veethi should park their vehicles on North Chithira Veethi from December 17 to 18.

Tiruchi-bound goods carriers from Karur route would have to come via Kulithalai, Musiri, No.1 Tollgate and Chennai By Pass road.

Goods carriers proceeding towards Karur route from Pudukottai and Thanjavur will have to go via Palpannai roundabout, Sanjeevi Nagar, 'Y' road junction, No. 1 Tollgate and Musiri, a police press release said.
