Sudheesh acquitted

The Judicial Magistrate Court - V here on Friday acquitted Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam State deputy secretary L.K. Sudheesh in a case booked against him here in October 2017 for causing public nuisance while distributing ‘Nilavembu Kashaayam’ as a measure of preventing spread of dengue among residents.

Six others who were named as accused along with Mr. Sudheesh were also acquitted in the case booked by the Gandhi Market police last year.

The police had then booked a case against Mr.Sudheesh and six others under IPC Sections 143 (unlawful assembly) and 290 (public nuisance) besides under the Tamil Nadu City Police Act for having distributed the medicine without permission from the authorities concerned. After completion of trial, the Judicial Magistrate Court - V pronounced the verdict on Friday.
