Commissioner of Railway Safety, Southern Circle, Bengaluru, K.A. Manoharan will conduct a speed trial run from Pattukottai to Tiruvarur junction on Friday as part of his four-day statutory inspection of the section following completion of gauge conversion works.
The speed trial run will be conducted between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
During the speed trial run, all level crossing gates falling in the section will remain closed for a longer duration. Public staying in the vicinity of the railway line between Tiruvarur and Pattukottai must not approach or trespass the track, Southern Railway said in a press release issued here on Thursday.
The Commissioner of Railway Safety began inspection of the broad gauge track on Tuesday.
Accompanied by top officials of Southern Railway Construction Organisation and Tiruchi Railway Division, he inspected the stretch from Muthupettai to Tiruthuraipoondi on Thursday.
Southern Railway Construction Organisation carried out the gauge conversion project on the Tiruvarur-Tiruthuraipoondi-Pattukottai section.
The inspection will conclude on Friday with the speed trial run.
