Haj aspirants who have applied for passports but have not yet received the same even after completion of police verification may contact the Regional Passport Office in Tiruchi, R. Anand, Regional Passport Officer, has said.
In a release Mr. Anand pointed out that the Haj Committee has fixed November 10 as the last date for submission of applications along with passport details. A special Haj help desk will function at the Regional Passport Office at Marakkadai in Tiruchi till November 10 to help applicants and speed up issue of passports to prospective Haj pilgrims by reserving appointment slots, handle status enquiry and grievances of prospective Haj applicants. Applicants should come to the office with copy of the acknowledgement slip or online application forms (ARN sheets), Mr. Anand said.
Only those who possess machine readable valid passports with validity at least up to January 20,2021, would be permitted to apply for Haj 2019, he added.
Mr. Anand also cautioned the public to beware of fake websites claiming to offer passport services.
He also urged the people to make use of the Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK) at Perambalur, Karaikal, Karur, Sirkazhi and Thiruthuraipoondi for availing passport related services.
